Tanya is an actor and voice over artist. Most recently, she performed in the national tour of Grace Under Pressure, and other recent credits include Harrow (ABC), Metrosexual (9Go & 9Now), Heist (webseries), and the short films Occupation, thriller Smother and A Picture of Other People, which enjoyed a successful festival run. 

Awards include Best Actress at the Sanctuary Film Festival for Tanya’s performance,  Best Film and Audience Choice Award at the Brisbane Backyard Film Festival, Best Film at QEST Short Film Festival (BIFF), Screen It! Film Festival and SIPFest (GCFF), and various other category awards and official selection for many other Australian and International Film Festivals.

 

She originally graduated from QUT with a BA Film & Television Production, going on to teach subjects including Media Production and Directing Actors, and to work behind the scenes in various international television productions.  She then went on to study at The Actors Workshop, and has since performed many roles in theatre, television, independent films and TVCs.

 

Tanya continues to study as often as possible, and has most recently participated in masterclasses with Patsy Rodenburg and Larry Moss.

She has been an acting tutor for NIDA Open since 2010, and has also won the ATOM Teachers Award for her work making films with children in the Indigenous community of Cherbourg, where she also coordinates an Early Years Literacy and bookmaking project.

 

Tanya is also a yoga and meditation teacher and facilitates Mind & Body workshops for performers. She is passionate about integrating breath, mind and body awareness with presence and creativity.
